Obituary of Orlando Martinez De La Fuente
Orlando Martinez De La Fuente, 72 of Caldwell, passed away at the Boise VA Hospital on January 21st. He was born August 20, 1951 in McAllen, Texas to Beatriz Martinez De La Fuente and Florentino De La Fuente.
As a young child he moved with his family to Nampa, Idaho, where he met and his childhood sweetheart Evon De La Fuente. They were married 1971 in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico. Together they were blessed with five children.
Orlando was a proud veteran serving in the Vietnam War, an innovator and a laborer that worked in many different fields.
He is survived by his children: Beatriz (Francisco) Rocha, Angel (Sam) Lorta, Ronnie De La Fuente, Orlando De La Fuente Jr (Alicia), Jennifer (Kristi) De La Fuente, and Angela (Mingo) Hernandez and Tino De La Fuente. 2 siblings, Homero De La Fuente, and Beatriz Gutierrez. 11 grandchildren, Velen Lorta, Vannessa (Devin) De La Fuente, Jennifer (Jesus) Rocha, Orlando De La Fuente III, Sammy Lorta, Adianna De La Fuente, Ieasha De La Fuente, Junior Rocha, Kailey Jarboe, Brooklyn Holloway and Tyson Holloway. 7 great- grandchildren Paisley Shippy, Stella Montana, Samson Lorta, Valarie Ponce-Rocha, Samuel Lorta, William Wallace, and Emmjay Montana.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life Evon De La Fuente, his parents, and his brothers Ovido, Tavo, Tavi, and Nato and his sister Tela.
His viewing will be Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM with the Rosary Recited at 7:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan 30, 2024 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Valley Catholic Church, Caldwell. With graveside burial at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Nampa.
