Obituary of Gerald Lynn Webster

In Loving Memory of Gerald Webster

Gerald Webster, born on December 1, 1947, peacefully passed away at his home on January 17, 2024, after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Dale and Ferma Webster, hailing from Twin Falls, Idaho. Gerald graduated from Twin Falls High School and later pursued a design and drafting technology program at Idaho State University, completing it in May 1970.

On December 26, 1970, Gerald married the love of his life, Diana George. For the next 20 years, he joyfully accompanied Diana to various military duty stations, cherishing his favorite ones in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. Embracing the outdoor lifestyle in these picturesque locations, Gerald began his construction career.

After Diana's retirement in the fall of 1989, the family settled in Wilder, Idaho. Over the next 33 years, Gerald continued his work in the building trade, often working independently. This allowed him to indulge in his outdoor hobbies, particularly his passion for fishing. Some of his most cherished memories included fishing adventures with his son Daniel in Ketchikan, Alaska, local crappie fishing with friends and family, and shrimping and fishing escapades in Hood Canal, Washington, with his dear buddies.

A true giver in life, Gerald generously offered his time and talents to family, friends, and even friends of friends. Nearly everyone who knew and loved him was touched by something he built or repaired for them.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father Dale and his father and mother-in-law Pete and Margaret George. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diana, his children Kristen Story and Daniel Webster, granddaughters Baylee (Caiden) Oliver, Evelyn Webster, Emma and Sophia Story, and great-granddaughter Georgia Oliver. He is also survived by his mother Ferma Webster, sister Eldora Walker, and brother Emery (Marilyn) Webster.

Services to celebrate Gerald's life will be held on February 3, 2024, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:30 followed by a service at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale.  At the conclusion of the services, a celebration of life dinner will be held at Txoho Ona Basque Center in Homedale, Idaho.
