Obituary of Keith K Miller

Keith K. Miller (Caldwell ID), 92, passed away peacefully among family on January 5, 2024.  He was born in Milford NE on August 21, 1931, to Orvil and Millie (Stutzman) Miller.

Always a hard worker, Keith began working at farm-related jobs right after he finished schooling at Pilot Knob country school.  He married the love of his life, Delores Lehman, in September, 1952.  They remained married for over 71 years.

Following their wedding Keith and Delores moved to Denver CO where Keith worked at

Colorado General Hospital.  After two years and the birth of their daughter, Joni, they moved to Colorado Springs CO where Keith installed storm windows.  In 1957, they moved to Nampa ID where Keith worked for his uncle.  He continued working in farm-related jobs , including a partnership in owning and operating a livestock hauling business.  He eventually sold his share of the business to allow him more time at home with his family.  He began working for Feed Service making local deliveries of liquid feed.

Keith’s personal life was also full during those busy working years.  He was blessed with three more daughters, Sheri, Dori, and Sandee.  He loved traveling with Delores on their motorcycle, and he enjoyed tinkering and building in his shop.  He also served as an usher at the First Mennonite Church for 23 years where his ability to greet and welcome people made for a perfect fit.

In 1986 Keith and Delores moved to Albany OR where Keith worked in his daughter and son-inlaw’s cabinet shop.  In 1996 he retired, and they returned to Nampa ID.

Keith was a man of quiet and strong faith in the Lord.  He always credited his safety on the road to his “ Silent Partner.”  He was so proud of receiving the Million Mile Award from the American Trucking Association for outstanding performance as a professional driver.  In all those miles, he never received a traffic citation or had an accident.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and sister (Evelyn Yeackley).  He is survived by his wife, Delores, and daughters Joni (Keith) Harkless, Sheri (Warren) Yoder, Dori (Mike) LeClair, and Sandee (Tony) Haynes.  He is also survived by his brother (Earlis Miller), and sisters Betty (Leonard) Grieser, Wilma (Maynard) Steckly, and Janice (Lonnie) Roth, as well as nieces and nephews.  In addition, he is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  We will all miss his wonderful smile.

Someone once said that Keith was the kind of man you would want for a neighbor.  He was that and so much more.

Memorial celebration of Keith's life will be announced in the Spring.
