Obituary of Juan Gonzalez

  Juan Gonzalez, 85, passed away, Friday, December 8, 2023 at his home in Wilder.  He was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on May 27, 1938 to Enrique and Emilia Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his sister, Felipa Gonzalez, father Enrique Gonzalez, mother Emilia Gonzalez, brother Enrique Gonzalez Jr.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Estella Gonzalez and children, Caroline Ortiz, Juan Gonzalez Jr, Felix Gonzalez, Lupe (Cesar) Rodriguez.  6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

  He migrated from Mexico to Texas, Idaho and California while working in agriculture.  In 1959, he met Estella Pineda and they married in August of 1962. They made their home in Notus, Idaho; later establishing themselves in Wilder, Idaho in 1965 where they purchased land and built their forever home. He worked up until the age of 83 driving his trucks.  He enjoyed trips to California to visit his siblings. If you couldn’t find him working in his shop you could usually find him with his favorite pool stick.

  A viewing for friends and family will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.  Rosary recital will begin at 7:00 pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell.  Interment will follow at Wilder Cemetery in Wilder, Idaho.
