Obituary of Eleanor Evangeline Blue
Eleanor Evangeline (Toews) Blue, 94, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away on December 3, 2023. She was born on April 19,1929 in Twin Lakes, Minnesota. Eleanor was a beloved mother of four children, and beloved member of four children. She was a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In her early years, besides attending school and having to learn English because in the home they spoke German only, she also had to go and help feed the cows, and work in the fields. I am sure like David in the Bible she probably spoke to God, and I know that my mother had a deep relationship with God. She was known as a very hard worker, a trait she carried throughout her life.
She had hobbies that she greatly enjoyed, and others enjoyed learning from her. They included Hardanger Embroidery, ceramic working and at one time she had two kilns, molds to make green ware and a lot of equipment. She taught many classes and people enjoyed learning to work ceramics from her. Her sports were golfing which she took up in college, and in later years she was the shuffleboard queen, and none of us could beat her.
She would help out wherever needed volunteering, supporting others giving her time and energy to others. Her kindness and compassion touched the hearts of many. Eleanor’s love and laughter brought joy to many and created cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Eleanor is survived by her loving family, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who know her.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Eleanor’s life and honor her memory.
