Obituary of Maria Lee Sims

Maria Lee Sims of Caldwell passed away Saturday May 20, 2023. She was born March 1, 1955 to Kenneth and Bernice Burton (Sexton) and is survived by her mother; Bernice Sexton, her three children Lonnie Raney, Shontel Smith and Deana Crisp. Maria has two sisters; Janet McDaniel, Theresa Riley, and two stepbrothers Ronnie Sexton with his wife Patti, and Tony Sexton, with his wife Maryanne, plus half brothers & sisters Steve Burton, Harry Burton, Carla Burton, Terry Burton, Tom Burton, and Shannon Burton. She is also survived by Shontel’s children Chancler, Kennedy, Sonny, and Deana’s children Darius & Domonique, plus Maria's great grandchildren Jackie, and Jackson. Maria has many various aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones near and far. Maria Lee Sims was proceeded into death by her husband Rick Raney, Her biological father Kenneth Burton, and her sister Melanie Burton, her stepfather James Sexton, and her sister Melanie Burton, several aunts, uncles, and her grandparents. Maria was also preceded into death by Bob Tuning in who she gives tribute to, “The only Dad I ever knew”.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday May 30, 11:00 A.M. at Peaceful Valley Cemetery. Potluck dinner will follow at Marsing park.
