Obituary of Geraldine Eismann

Geraldine “Geri” (Hale) Eismann, 85, of Caldwell passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023. Geri was born on June 27, 1937, in Emmett, Idaho, the third of four children born to Frederick and Genevieve Hale.

Geri, a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, is survived by her children, Joan Eismann, Daniel T. Eismann (Sheila), Katherine Eismann (Brent Williams), Randy Martinat (Wanda), Karen Urbano (Gilbert), Debra Murphy (David), and numerous grandchildren.

Upon graduation from Marsing High School in 1955, Geri married Marvin Martinat and had her son, Randy Martinat. After their divorce, Geri met and married Richard “Dick” Eismann in 1960. Dick and Geri joined forces along with their families which included Dick’s four children, Joan, Dan, Kathy and Susan and Geri’s son, Randy. Thereafter Dick and Geri had two children together, Karen and Debbie.

In 1963, Dick and Geri built their family home on 40 acres outside of Caldwell where they raised their seven children. Dick and Geri created a wonderful home with lots of entertainment for their children and grandchildren.  Each August, Dick and Geri vacationed towing their boat, “Idaho Eagle,” to Canada to fish and recreate. More than anything, Geri enjoyed getting the whole family together and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Even in her later years, she worked tirelessly on preparing elaborate family dinners and hosting holiday gatherings.

Geri worked side by side with Dick in his law practice originally located in Homedale, Idaho. Geri managed the office and pitched in wherever needed. After a fire in 1985, Dick and Geri moved the law office to Nampa. Through the fall of 2020, Dick and Geri continued to work every day at the office. In November of that year, the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and not long thereafter, Dick passed away on January 3, 2021.

Caring for her husband and family was Geri’s number one priority. Geri remained a guiding force in the raising of her grandchildren, and she instilled both a strong work ethic and good values. She was compassionate but also believed in tough love. Her focus was on doing the right thing, which is not typically the easy thing.

Geri was a warm and outgoing person who never knew a stranger. She was a great conversationalist and always lent an ear to listen. Geri had a natural gift for music. She loved to sing harmony, dance, and play the piano.  People who knew Geri would talk about her beautiful smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank Grace Memory Care in Caldwell and All Care Health Solutions for their excellent care of Geri.  A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on May 30, 2023, at Flahiff Funeral Chapels and Crematory, 624 Cleveland Blvd. in Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
