Obituary of David Gene Sheets

  David Gene Sheets, 82, of Nampa, Idaho went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Crossroads Assembly of God located at 20444 US 95 in Wilder, Idaho with the graveside service immediately following at Greenleaf Cemetery.

  Dave was born January 17, 1941, in Montier, Missouri. He was a long-time member of Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Wilder. Dave loved to camp, fish, and hunt. In his younger days he loved to go cut firewood in the mountains. He would tell us kids we were going camping, but we knew that was code for firewood and work! He also loved to fix up old cars and sell them, so much so that he eventually opened a car lot and towing business that he had for many years.

  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Maxine Miller Sheets; two sons, Tim Sheets and wife, Alisa, and Steve Sheets and wife Angel; one daughter, Debra McGranahan and husband Rob; one brother, Avery Sheets and wife Theo; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren, a nephew and niece that he greatly loved; and sister-in-law Carlene Miller Mattson, whom we so love and appreciate for all she has done.

The family would like to thank Cascadia of Nampa staff for their love and care for David over the past 4 1/2 years, and the Residents there who truly became his friends.

 A visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel located at 624 Cleveland Blvd in Caldwell, Idaho.
