Obituary of Melody Jayne Davis

Melody Jayne Davis, age 70, of Homedale, Idaho, was taken by God on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 26, 1953, to the late Wanda L. Burrell (Ward) and Harry A. Schutte, Melody was preceded in death by daughter Roxanne Pendleton and brother Harry A. Schutte Jr. She is survived by loving husband Doug, sons Loren Elkins, Dallas Elkins (Blair), Mike Davis and Levi Davis; daughters Jennifer Zapata and Laura Rush; sister Rosalee White (Robert) and brother Timothy Schutte (Dawn); nineteen grandkids, one great grandson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After graduation from Westerville South High School in 1970, Melody later moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she earned her LPN degree. She worked at many hospitals and nursing homes throughout Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada, finally settling in Tucson where she retired as an MDS coordinator. Melody saved numerous lives, touched many hearts, and with great compassion held many hands while souls passed on. It was in Tucson that Melody discovered her soul-mate Doug, and they married in January, 2015. She moved to Nampa, Idaho, where Doug retired, after which they moved to Homedale, Idaho, to be with family and friends and enjoy the enchanting beauty of the Snake River.

Melody was a faithful and loving child of God, a wonderful mother, caring sister and grandmother, trusted cousin, dedicated nurse and loyal friend. She will be missed by all who loved her.
