Obituary of Lois Freeland

LOIS ANN FREELAND of Caldwell, ID, while surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2023 at the age of 81.

She is survived by her daughter Michele Welch (Jim) of Walls, MS, son Dennis Sughrue (Sandy) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, daughter Lenora Hollis (Donn) of Caldwell, ID and son Timothy Sughrue (Veronica) of Colorado Springs, CO, her twin sister Linda Toothman of Elizabeththown, KY, and longtime friend Julian Estrada of Caldwell, ID. She was a cherished Nana to her 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Lois was born in North Adams, MA on October 4, 1941 and she always had a passion and love for her family and friends. She fell in love with Idaho in the 1980’s and moved here from El Paso, TX. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. If you allowed her, she would sit and talk about them for hours always with a smile. She loved to bowl, cared deeply for her pets and all animals, and enjoyed her long walks with her ‘Angel Baby.’

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Dorothy Holmes (Anderson), her husband Bishop Thomas Freeland, her sister Cela Vellines, her brother Peter Holmes, and by her beloved great grandson Tyler Rhea.

There will be a brief ceremony at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 on Thursday, April 20, and she will be laid to rest along side her beloved husband, Tom.
