Obituary of Guadalupe A. Salgado

  Guadalupe Abrego Salgado, 87, of Caldwell, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at a local hospital of natural causes.  She was born February 21, 1936 in Brownsville, Texas to Leonardo & Guadalupe (Aguilar) Abrego. 

  In 1953, she met and married the love of her life, Armando Salgado. Together they had 10 children: Mary, Luis, Virginia, Margie, Ruben, Tony, Rose, Lydia and Armando Jr.  She decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother – supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.

  Whether that was supporting her husband or children, she made it her mission to improve their lives and of others. Guadalupe loved playing bingo, shopping, music and dancing, but family gatherings were of the most importance to her.  Her last wishes were that the family remain united.  We will miss her greatly.    

  Guadalupe was preceded in death by Armando Salgado, Armando Salgado II, Concuelo Abrego, Amador Cortinas, Zyra Martinez, Valentin Abrego and Elizabeth Gonzales.

  She is survived by Mary Grimaldo, Luis Delgado, Virginia (Claudio) Garcia, Margie (Juan) Gonzalez, Antonio (Mindy) Salgado, Ruben (Aimee) Salgado, Rosie Cortinas (Irvy), Lydia Salgado (Adrian), Armando Jr (Josie) Salgado.

  A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, and on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm also at Flahiff Funeral Chapels with Rosary Recital at 7:00pm.  Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 10:00am with inurnment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery in Greenleaf, Idaho.
