Obituary of Guadalupe G. Eguia

Guadalupe (Lupe) G Eguia age 81 of Homedale passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 of natural causes. She was born in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on April 7, 1941 to Enrique and Evangelina Garcia (both deceased). They immigrated to the US and lived in many states and finally settled in the Caldwell area in 1955. She lived and work in various places including the Evans Fish Fly and Simplot.

Lupe married on April 24, 1967 to Guadalupe (Lupe) H. Eguia. Friends and Family would identify them by "Lupe the boy" and "Lupe the girl or Lupana". They lived throughout southwestern Idaho’s farming area and finally settled in Homedale in 1985. She left the outside workforce in to become a full-time mom to three children. She was a fantastic cook, always canning or freezing something or other. She loved gardening, crocheting and embroidery. She helped by babysitting others children, which included some of her nieces. Lupe proudly became a United States citizen in 2000. Lupe always put everyone else before herself and never thought twice about doing it any other way.

Once they retired, she and Lupe were able to travel around the country to visit the kids. She loved every opportunity to go to an amusement park and rode many rollercoasters. She touched so many lives, and was referred to as “Mom” by many others. She will be dearly missed by everyone. She is survived by her siblings: Milo/Mary Garcia (Arizona), Mary Franco, Josephine Martinez (Caldwell), Frank/Pam Garcia (Caldwell), Janie/Nati Pinon (Caldwell), Henry Garcia (Arizona), Ruben/Debbie Garcia (Boise), Yolanda/George Espinosa (Middelton) and Nellie/Jose Madera (Nevada); Three children: Laura Eguia (Harden) of Homedale, Micaela (Mickie)/Les Martin of Lake Stevens, Washington and David/Kendra Eguia of Sedro-Wooley, Washington; her six grandchildren: Alexander, Joshua, Marcus, Nathan (Harden) and Izabella and Lyric (Eguia) and seven great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Elijah, Louise, Asa, Audrey, Maverick and Parker. She is preceded in death by both her parents, 4 siblings Reyes, Concepcion, Alberto and Cristobal, her husband Guadalupe H Eguia and two children, Roberto (Robbie) and Rosemary.

A Viewing will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4-6 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Rosary to follow from 6-7PM.

Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 10, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell at 10-11 AM with the burial at Canyon Hill Cemetery following the service.
