Obituary of Ermal Lea Bowers

  Ermal Lea Bowers passed away September 19th in Nampa, Idaho from congestive heart failure.

  She was born April 25, 1937 in Adrian, Oregon to Frank and Helen (Stinemetz) Wilber. She was raised in Caldwell, Middleton, and graduated high school in 1955. She worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator in Caldwell and Boise from 1957 to 1972.

  In May 1972, she met Harold Bowers, on a blind date and they were married September 30th of the same year, in Elko Nevada. Afterwards, they lived on their farm in Marsing, Idaho.

  For several years, she was a housekeeper for several families in the area, a position she loved and one where the ladies were wonderful to her.

  Some of her favorite things in life were four-wheeling with Harold, yard work, cooking, going on walks, watching old movies, and going to thrift stores (She could spot them a mile away). She also loved to travel with her husband in their 5th wheel, going to the Oregon Coast, Branson MO, and Quartzite and Yuma AZ.

  She loved all kinds of music and could be seen singing at the jam sessions in Arizona. 

She loved giving and had a special talent for finding that perfect item that her family and friends had been searching for. 

  She was a devoted member of the Nazarene Church in Marsing.

  Surviving family are Gina (daughter) and Greg (son-in-law) Mayer, grandchild Hanna, one brother and sister-in-law, Blaine and June Wilber of Ontario Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend since 7th grade, Sherry Allen, whom she all loved dearly.

  She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, sister Dimice Dyer, and her Parents.

  The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice, Nurse Sharon and Harbor Assisted Living for their wonderful care they gave Mom.

  Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11 am, at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery.
