Obituary of Robert Duane Salisbury

Robert “Bob” Duane Salisbury was born October 21, 1953 in Caldwell, Idaho to Aaron and Margaret Salisbury. He was a student of Homedale High School in Homedale, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Margaret Salisbury, sister Jan Samartino (and Jan’s husband Tony and son Matt).

He loved his wife Sabrina “Rogalsky” Salisbury, daughter Jennifer “Salisbury” Hodges (husband Patrick and their daughters Kelly, Amanda “Mandy”, and Elizabeth “Lizzy”), son Abraham “Abe” Salisbury (wife Nai and their two sons Tai and Aaron), and son Brian Salisbury.

Bob lived on the family farm during his childhood and most of his adult life.  His best childhood memories were playing with his family, having fun with high school friends, fishing, and hunting. As an adult, hunting in Wyoming and taking care of his job as a railroad agent in Kemmerer, Wyoming was important to him. When he moved back to Homedale, Idaho he enjoyed fishing and looking around in the Owyhees near Marsing and Homedale, Idaho.

After Bob graduated from Homedale High School, he went to Boise State College for 2 years, as well as attending George Fox College and Mountain West College. He got a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational leadership and Bachelor of Science in computer programing.

Over the years, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Kemmerer, Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; and multiple places in Idaho. He worked for the Southwest District Health Department. He was pleased to have had the opportunity to protect children as he worked as the coordinator for vaccines for the children of Idaho. 

Bob retired to his childhood home on the farm and enjoyed country life.

As he knew that his days were limited, he wanted to go on one more fishing trip.  It was very important to him to go through Leslie’s Gulch and fish at the Owyhee Reservoir.  It didn’t take long for him to catch what he referred to as a monster Bass.  He was so thrilled to have such an experience for his last fishing trip.

Bob has felt blessed with his children and grandchildren.  He will be appreciated for all he has done for his wife and children. He enjoyed being able to help them move, work on building in their homes, or even supported their hobbies. He was there to help family as they fought through emotional and physical troubles. His family enjoyed witnessing the love he had for his family and will always love him. He gained great appreciation for small animals. He became good buddies with Raven who was treated as a member of the family and belonged to Bob’s son Brian.

Bob was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
