Betty Tidwell

Obituary of Betty Inez Tidwell

Betty Delzell Tidwell was born on April 28, 1935 to Harold and Ruth Delzell in Emmett, Idaho; she was the second daughters Lola May and Della Ruth.  They moved to Eagle, Idaho with parents sometime in the early 1940s.  Her family farmed and ran a dairy farm along side her uncle Oran and cousins Balance and others.  Betty always talked fondly of her folks and other relatives, telling many interesting and fun stories of her upbringing in the 40s and 50s which would be envied today.  She met and married John W. Hezeltine  in 1951 and again moved to Emmett to farm, together they started their family consisting of Walter Harold Hezeltine of Harpster, Idaho; John Charles Hezeltine of Nampa, Idaho; Jeanie Hezeltine Scovell of Caldwell, Idaho; and James Dwayne Hezeltine of Cottonwood, Arizona.

Betty Worked hard in the agriculture (fruits and other produce) fields for many years.  She married Mack Tidwell in 1974 and then moved to Marsing, Idaho.  Betty loved her yard, flowers especially her roses. She kept a perfect home. She enjoyed her family, friends and when healthy her church. She loved her kitty’s holding them while she sat on her deck. She loved a good meal.  She was very well loved and will be remembered as quite the character.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and believed the gospel.  At 87 years old she still had a great sense of humor.  She loved her family and grandchildren, and they find peace knowing she is no longer suffering under the bondage of illness or weakness - she is now free.  Much could be said of her – we will always love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Delzell, her ex-husband, John W. Hezeltine, husband Mack Tidwell, sister Lola May Pfeiffer, a brother who died at birth and two of her grandchildren Hawk Jason and Rebecca Jolene.

Betty is leaving behind to carry on her legacy:  her four children and 16 wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  We will definitely miss you mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and friend of many.  Thank you for sharing your life with us; we will see you there; “That land where Christ IS, that is our great hope.”
