Obituary of Margaret Greer

Margaret Ethel Greer, 92 of Nampa, Idaho peacefully passed away December 10^th 2021 of natural causes. She was born July 29^th 1929 in Medford, Oregon to Hugh and Winifred (Wheeler) Shaw. She married Charles Greer in June of 1948 who proceeded her in death in 2002.

She worked as a waitress for over 20 years. Her 2^nd career, until retiring, was working at Western Idaho Potato in Nampa. When she was younger, Mom had a simple but gratifying life doing volunteer work for the Guild, she also enjoyed opening her home to unwed mothers and made lifelong friendships doing this work. Family camping trips, going to the drive-in for a movie, a get together with friends for BBQ’s or a nice game of pinochle was often enjoyed. She kept her girls busy with bluebirds, girl scouts, 4-H and sleepovers. I don’t remember a time that mom left the house without her standard “I love you” being spoken.  

She is survived by her brothers Delvin (Sue) Shaw in Hermiston, OR and David Shaw in Salem, Or. Her daughters Pamela (Brad) Page in Nampa, ID and Mary Meininger in Twin Falls, ID, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews in various locations around the United States.

Arrangements are under the direction of Flahiff’s Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, Idaho. A private memorial service will be scheduled in the Spring of 2022. In lieu of flowers a donation to the VA hospital would be welcome.
