Donna Knapple

Obituary of Donna Jean Knapple

Donna Jean Knapple passed away on October 31, 2021 after a long battle with dementia.  She is the third daughter of six children to Phillip and Jean Knapple.  Donna was born in Roseburg, Oregon. Donna was the type of person that would do anything for you, the word no was just not in her vocabulary.  She had a kind heart and a loving soul.  She loved to sing and God gave her a voice of an angel.

In seventh grade the family moved to Bonners Ferry where she met her long time forever friend Marva Jantz.  They seemed to be inseparable and even though the years took them on other journeys, they kept in touch up to the end.

After graduation from Bonners Ferry High School, she moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where she went to college and worked as a secretary for a law firm.  She then moved to Boise, Idaho and started working at the college health center.  There she met and made many friends.  She sold Mary Kay for many years and made multiple friends.  She never seemed to have a fear of talking to people and making them feel special.  Leaving there, she worked for Varsety Contractors as there marketing rep.

Donna eventually moved in with her dad and enjoyed working with him in the garden and out in the yard at his home in Caldwell.  After her father passed away, she moved to Emmett with her little dog Charlie to be closer to her little sister.  She was always one to make friends easily and in no time made friends with people close to where she lived.  When she couldn’t live alone anymore, she moved in with Jimmy Lou Aquino and helped her with house cleaning and keeping up her lawn.  She was then moved into Meadow View Assisted Living and Memory Care where she made again many friends and was loved by everyone.

Donna loved rocks and it did not make any difference how ugly they really were she would always find the beauty in them.  Whether it be that, they had pretty designs, a smooth surface, or a pretty color.  She could always see the beauty in things that we seem to take for granted on this earth; wither it be the shape of the clouds or the color of the mountains when the sun was going down.  She made me realize that there is beauty in everything.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters Jim Knapple, Sharon McDonald, John Knapple, Ann Virtue, and Betty Williamson.

She will be missed, but remembered in our hearts for her sweet love and kindness.  May you rest in peace Donna, our sister and friend.
