Obituary of Avlys Mayble Burton

  Avlys M Burton passed peacefully on July 11, 2021, knowing Jesus would wake her up at his second coming. Her final days were spent surrounded by family.

  Avlys, age 86 of Parma Idaho was born in Molalla, Oregon on July 10, 1935, to Don and Olga Rollins. First born of 6 girls and 2 boys, she married Boyd Burton on July 21^st in Cove, Oregon just 11 days after her 21^st birthday. April 12, 1957 (Donald), May 6, 1958 (Cindy), September 14, 1959 (Rick), and September 28, 1960 (Patricia) would fill their house with cribs!! Rick still tries to imagine his little momma with a newborn, a 1-year-old, a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old! What a WONDERFUL job she did and then through the years had more love for all she came in contact with, especially distant or disconnected relatives, just ask any of them.

  Avlys accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at the age of 14 at the Cove swimming pool. And once again at the age of 68 alongside of her husband Boyd once again at the Cove swimming pool. As a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, she was always active teaching children about the love of God. Her lifelong legacy was walking beside and supporting her husband, raising her children, and investing her time and love into the lives of grandchildren and great grandchildren and anyone else she could reach out to.

  Avlys is survived by her sisters Gladys Ferguson, Ora Rollins and Kathy Rollins, her children Donald Burton, Cindy and (Mark) Clelland, Rick and (Penny) Burton, Patricia and (Hans) Woelk, Kathy Burton and 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

  She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Burton, her parents Don and Olga Rollins, her sisters Marion Millman and Verla Collett and her brothers Floyd Rollins and John Martin.

  Graveside service Cove Cemetery, Cove Oregon Saturday July 24 10:00 am

  Memorial to follow at Pioneer Park in La Grande in the Pavilion at approximately 12:00pm.
