Obituary of Mary Sue Ensley

Mary Sue Ensley, 79, of Homedale passed away at home Thursday, April 29, 2021 with family by her side. 

Mary Sue was born September 25, 1941 in Marshall, Arkansas to Claude and Cenith Huckabee; she was their first child, followed by her sister, Clauda. Shortly after, her family moved to Wilder, Idaho. Mary attended school in Wilder where she met her husband Robert John Ensley. Bob and Mary were married shortly after high school. Together they had three children: Jona, Bobbie, and Kevin. 

Along with raising a family, Mary ran her own beauty shop where she cut hair. She also made time to help her husband run their three businesses. She was a busy woman who had tremendous strength - she worked hard to create the best life for her family.  Amongst all of these things, she also found time to enjoy her hobbies. She enjoyed going to town with a couple of her best friends, gambling, bingo night, playing cards, and playing on her Thursday night bowling league. She was also the chef at hunting camp and made sure everyone was well fed. Mary also had the steady hand to patch her kids’ and grandkids’ clothes as needed throughout their life. 

In her later years, life slowed down a little and she was able to volunteer at the Homedale Senior Center; she was on the board for many years. Mary gave it her all in anything that she did, a trait we all admire. Mary enjoyed visiting at her kitchen table - she always had treats for anyone who sat down to visit. If you were a frequent visitor, she always made sure to have your favorite treat. Her door was always open for anyone who wanted or needed someone to talk to. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her children will miss long conversations and her cooking. Mary was a loving woman who had a sass to her that was unlike anyone else. She will be greatly missed by so many. 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and parents-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Jona Kophamer and Bobbie Ensley; son, Kevin (Ruthann) Ensley; grandchildren: Nanci, Levi, Terra, Erin, Seth, Chance, Jake, Chelsie, Austin, Sam, and Marissa; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jayda, Jayce, Destiny, Axton, Tate, Avenley, Karlee, Baylee Tryptin, Alaric, and Jameson.
