Donna Jones Gallegos

Obituary of Donna Larae Jones Gallegos

Donna La Rae Jones Gallegos entered the Golden Gates of Heaven with open arms on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at the age of 70. Donna was born on July 15, 1950 to Loretta Pauline Kidder & William “Dugan” Leslie Rush in Payette Idaho. Surviving siblings include Monty, Kristina, Darlena, Pat, Kay, Beverly. She is also survived by her children, Lottie (husband Eddie whom she loved like a son), Luke (wife Adrienne), Jerry and several grandchildren. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie, brother Danny Joe, Sister Billie, and her precious baby grandson “Casey”, who met her at the golden gates with open arms. Donna was widowed in 1990 by husband Valentino Charlie Gallegos, whom she loved dearly and “who held her heart”.

Donna’s family moved around when she was young and ended up in Oakridge Oregon where she had her first son Gerald “Jerry” Dwight Rush.  She eventually met her first husband William “Bill” Ira Jones and had two more beautiful children; Loretta M. Jones Tovar and Luke Ian Jones. Bill, who had a son named Mike Jones (and his lovely wife, Judy) from a previous relationship, went to heaven on May 29, 2020. Donna loved Mike Jones like a son.  Donna ended up moving back to Idaho where she raised her children and adopted three more children; Kenny Ledbetter, Jamie Harris and David Stansberry whom she also loved dearly.

Donna worked for the Forrest Service in Oregon, was a bar tender and worked in the poultry plant, at last retiring from the Idaho State School and Hospital. She loved to bring clients home for the holidays, watch them open gifts and provide them happiness they had not experienced.  Donna was a devoted Christian her whole life, loving our heavenly father and providing open arms to all that she met. She was a very kind and affectionate person, willing to help anyone. Donna was a very loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, Kristofer & Riley Jones, Mikayla, Isabella & Aydin Tovar, Trevor & Paula Rush, Anthony, Harry & Branden Harris, Dakota Ledbetter & 3 beautiful great grandsons Trevor, Jesse and James. Donna loved going to yard sales with her daughter and grandchildren, playing cards, sewing, fishing, singing, watching westerns, crime shows and Christian worship channels.  Donna touched so many lives with her love, generosity and passion for life and will forever be remembered and cherished in our hearts.

We would like to thank her lifelong friends Florence French from Oakridge Oregon, Ray and Joyce Hensley and her wonderful neighbors for all the love and support they gave her throughout the years.  The family will hold a celebration of life later this spring.
