Rafaela Luna

Obituary of Rafaela R. Luna

Nuestra querida madre (Our beloved mother) Rafaela Rodríguez Luna, 74 of Wilder, Idaho
passed away on August 30th 2020 with her children and loved ones by her side.
She was born to Lorenzo Rodriguez Sr and Felicitas (Lecha) Rodriguez on October 24th 1945
in Lovell Wyoming. Rafaela spent most of her life in Lovell until 1977 when she relocated to
Wilder Idaho. She would later marry to Raul Luna for 22 years.
Rafaela was known as a hard worker, of whom worked all her life and appreciated all the little
things but most importantly she took pride in everything she did. She worked in numerous
trades ranging from Crookham Seed Company (18 years) to Takasugi Seed Farms (12 years)
and eventually retail sales. Even though Rafaela spent much of her time working, her greatest
passion was as the family caretaker. She was the glue of her family, she always made sure that
her parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, extended family and even friends were taken care
of. This women was not only a beautiful soul, but she was a loving, kind and selfless person.
Rafaela always reminded her family to praise and thank God for everyday they lived. She was a
Christian who was baptized through the, Iglesia in Evengetica in Wilder. During her lifetime she
battled cancer twice and each time, she overcame and won because of her Faith in God. She
knew the good Lord would take care of her.She believed that Lord Jesus Christ is our savior.
She believed that after death there was an eternal life in heaven.
In her free time she loved to spend time with her sister Mary, watching novelas, and being with
her grandchildren. She took so much pride and joy in knowing that she raised her three oldest
grandchildren, Tyanna Lynn, Chanmiko and Alexajandra. If there was any chance she could
spend time with them she would. This even meant going on long drives, attending games and
playing with great grandchildren.
She especially loved family gatherings during the holidays because she was able to go above
and beyond. She could cook and bake for an entire army and have it all gone by the end of the
night. This women could whip up anything and it would come out perfect. When asked what her
dish was called, she laughed and said it was a mahangi.
She was known to everybody in the family as Tia Rafa. She was truly loved and admired. We
all respected and looked to her for any and all advice or decisions big and small.
Rafaela journey here on Earth has sadly come to an end but now her new journey in Heaven
has begun. We can only be happy that God gave her to us for so many years and we were
blessed to have had such a sweet Angel in our lives. She will continue to watch and guide us
from the heavens above. So when you're sad, repeat this prayer and think of her.
"So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and
we will find grace to help us when we need it."
Hebrews 4:16”
“6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and
thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything
we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
