Obituary of Nathan Henry Maurer

Goodbye, Our Beloved Nathan

Early Friday morning of June 5th, 2020, Nathan Henry Maurer from Wilder, Idaho, passed away to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Son of Robert and Barbara Maurer, grandson of Darrell and Mary Maurer, brother of Hannah, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Gabriel Maurer. Father to his 2 year old son Indiana whose mother is Danielle Maurer, as well as many more beloved relatives. 

 

Nathan’s Honorable Service:

2012-2016

United States Marine Corp, Deployed with Charlie battery BLT 2/1, home unit 1/11 HQ battery.

Feb 2019 through Feb 2020).

United States Army, Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion 78th Field Artillery 

Nathan received many military honors, medals, and awards for personal conduct, volunteer service hours and many achievements.  

 

Nathan’s Biography:

 

Nathan was born in Boise, ID on June 17th,1994. He spent his childhood in Wilder, ID and then finished his teenage years in Oroville, CA. He attended West Canyon Elementary, Sage Valley Middle School in ID and then graduated from Las Plumas High School in Oroville, CA.  After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp following his 18th birthday at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, CA. He was trained at Fort Lee Military Base and then stationed at Camp Pendleton. Nathan was a gifted marksman and small weapons specialist.  He was deployed on a naval carrier in the persion Gulf for 18 months, performing simulated combat training. Nathan finished his service at Camp Pendleton and was honorably discharged and returned to Boise, ID in 2016. He then became a proud father to Indiana on August 24th 2018, while working at a gun range in Boise until deciding to enlist in the Army in 2018.  He was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma then honorably discharged in March 2020 due to multiple medical conditions. Nathan worked at a gun range in Boise while helping with his father's fencing construction business.

 

Nathan’s Character

Nathan was known for his respectful demeanor, hard working attitude, and his ability to make anyone smile. He was the life of any party and deeply loved his family and friends. He was always wanting to be outdoors, whether it be camping, riding his motorcycle or goofing around with his siblings. Nathan was a gifted athlete and played many competitive sports at the schools he attended. His family and friends were so proud and supportive when he decided to join the Marine Corp. He was always there for his loved ones and never wanted to see anyone struggling or in pain. Nathan was the picture of courage and strength working harder everyday to be the best version of himself for his son Indiana. 

 

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Deer Flat Church, 17703 Beet Road, Caldwell, Idaho 83607.
