I will always remember Ray as one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever known. I have very fond memories of his jolly nature at holiday get-togethers and other occasions. He was always so welcoming and fun to be around. I have recently converted a bunch of old film to digital and it was fun to see some old 4th of July parties at the Arima's house and there was Ray laughing and having a good time. I had forgotten that he and my dad had worked on the airport together. He will truly be missed.

Tom Thomas Posted Mar 22, 2020 at 3:45 PM
My name is Tom Thomas, my dad Keith Thomas went to school with Ray. That's how I met him he would always be invited to family functions. When I was about 20- 25 my dad introduced me to him. I remember seeing him on the street or in a store and he always said hi and shook my hand. He was a good friend and I will miss him.

Mary Louise and family,
Ray was a wonderful light in this world. He did so many great things for others and was always willing to do whatever it took. He played his accordion at our wedding reception (back in 1972). Remember you (Mary Louise) as a teller at the First National Bank on Orchard. Doesn't seem that long ago but seeing you and Ray were married for 53 years, guess it has been a while. I know Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him, family as well as all the other people whose lives he touched, and there were many, many. Also remember something about the front window at Bicandi's in Homedale many years ago. He did have a rather wild side when he was younger.
Wishing all of you peace and love in remembering Ramon.

I was a smokejumper in McCall, but well after Rays tenure. I met Ray at one of our smokejumper reunions and he was a pleasure. He may have been one of the oldest in attendance that day if my memory serves me. All signs point to wonderful, active, and impact-full life. Well done. Love and Respect to family and friends. Godspeed Ray. Jumper Away.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ray since 2005 when I was hired as "clerk" as he would say for Owyhee CD and NOCWMA. I loved listening to his stories; he was an entertaining story teller. He was always willing to help. He is a special friend I will always remember. Love and prayers to him MaryLoise and his family.
