Obituary of Homer Dean Jewett

Homer Dean Jewett passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Family Life Memory Care home in Nampa, Idaho.  He was 84.

Dean was born September 28, 1935, in Buhl, Idaho, to Homer & Helen Jewett. Dean grew up in Fairfield, Idaho, where he was a gifted high school athlete. He lettered in basketball and football. His senior year he was the Team Captain of the basketball team. Dean was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan. He loved all kinds of music but especially 30’s and 40’s era big band. He worked for the telephone company for most of his professional life and even contracted after retirement as an inspector. Dean lived and worked out of Homedale, Idaho, for 40 years. After retirement, he was able to spend more time doing activities he enjoyed, including gardening, playing billiards and pitching horseshoes. Dean was known throughout his life for his sense of humor, his ability to tell a great story and share funny, anecdotal sayings.

He is survived by his children, LouAnn, Randy, Spencer and Tonia and his brother Gary Jewett.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie, and his parents Homer and Helen.

A time of remembrance for the life of Dean will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Idaho, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from Noon until 3 pm.
