Linda Demcak

Obituary of Linda Bowers Demcak

Linda Suzanne Bowers Demcak - traded mortality for immortality as she passed from this life to her home above on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 56 years of age after valiantly fighting cancer.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel, and her two loving children, Jonathan and CathyJo, as well as her two grandchildren. She is also survived by her caring parents, Ed and Cynthia Bowers, and her sister Carol Buchanan.

Linda was born in Redwood City, California to her parents, Ed and Cynthia, and spent her childhood growing up throughout California, Oregon, and Colorado.  She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University in Northridge. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Dan, and the two married shortly after she graduated. After living a couple of years on the California coast, the two moved to Littleton Colorado to find a slower pace of life in which to start a family. It was here, that their two children, Jonathan and CathyJo were born. A few years later, found them moving yet again to Homedale Idaho, where they truly found the pace of life they were looking for and where Linda would never have to move from again.

Linda was known for never liking change, and if change did occur, she found some way to turn change into tradition. It was this steady character that enabled her to be the unchanging rock for her family. She had a passion for homeschooling and dedicated her life to teaching her children and never passed an opportunity to encourage other moms in raising and teaching their own children. She, along with Dan, spent many years serving with the Idaho Homeschool association.

Linda loved flowers and had a large flower garden where she could be found anytime the weather permitted; planting or moving flowers, and cutting the best ones to bring inside where her home was always graced with numerous bouquets.

Always one to learn new things, Linda would research healthy habits for her family and would spend hours in the kitchen with CathyJo trying new recipes.

Ever ready to give someone a smile, hug, and listen to what they had to say, she was a mother and mentor to many more than just her own children. Preferring behind the scenes, she was always busy helping out and made many an event function smoothly. Every Sunday, she could be found welcoming everyone as they came to church.

Her love for her family was great, but her love for her Savior was even greater. She devoted many hours to Bible study, focused prayer for family and friends, memorizing Bible verses, and encouraging other ladies to be the best daughter, mother, and wife they could be through Christ. Even as cancer took over her body, her faith in her Savior and her home in Heaven did not waver.
