Obituary of Shirley Campbell

Shirley Lucille Campbell was born in Montrose, Colorado on October 28th, 1949 to Don and Jean Millican. She had two siblings. Judy Aja (husband Robert of Amarillo, Tx) and Donald Millican (wife Lori of Mankato, Minnesota). On November 19, 1979 she married Destry Scott Campbell. They loved each other until the day she went home to be with the Lord, on April 15th, 2019. Together they raised four children, Carol Williams of Redding, California. Kelly Schuh and her husband Jason of Caldwell, Idaho. Rowdy Campbell and his wife Sharene of Middleton, Idaho. And Zechariah Campbell and his wife Hayley of Big Pine, California. Part of her great legacy is that they all serve the Lord and have raised their children, Jacob and Esther Schuh; and Braden and Ashley Campbell to do the same.

Shirley’s first love was Jesus. She would not let an opportunity to speak the truth in love go by, even if it was uncomfortable, and she shared the gospel everywhere she went. Her and Destry, while busy with work, family, and life excepted the call to ministry. For 39 years she did her best to fulfill that call. She was a rock for all those who were in need, particularly young mothers who were going through the struggles of life.

Shirley loved getting her hands dirty. Camping, cooking, fishing, and working on her yard were just a few things she truly enjoyed and did extremely well. She could grow a garden, catch strings of fish, trim trees, and get just about anything that was broke down in running order better than most people could. She always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. Whether she was in a camp, in a church service, or at a potluck; Shirley could be found serving others long before thinking of herself. Many times, while most people slept, she would be up fixing coffee on a percolator and cooking breakfast in an old Dutch oven over the fire.

She loved her friends and her family, but it was always evident that her heart belonged to her husband, Destry whom she supported, cherished, and fervently loved for nearly 40 years. She was a beautiful, Godly woman who never relinquished the hope of salvation. Even in her final days she continued to minister to everyone around her. All that knew her will miss her and carry the memory of her example until we all meet again. Oh, Death where is your victory, Grave where is your sting?

Interment will be held privately at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery in Marsing, Idaho and a memorial service for Shirley will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
