Obituary of Dennis Shenk

Mr. Dennis Shenk passed away at his home in Nyssa, Or on March 16,2019. Family members kept him company until he left this world.

Dennis was born on April 19, 1936 to Mark and Ada Shenk at his Aunt Nita’s home near Huston.  He grew up in the community of Ridgeview near Homedale, Idaho surrounded by siblings.  He attended the small school there and then went on to Adrian Union high where he graduated in 1954.  He was a good athlete and competed in several sports.

The next step in his life was meeting and falling in love with Miss Jo Ann Marker, they were married in December of 1955 and started their lifelong job of ranching.  They produced 5 children, one of which died after only a few days.  The surviving children were Kelly Camp (Bob), Julie Camp, Kathy Demshar (John) and Michael Shenk (Sherri). He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, their son Thomas and granddaughter Ada preceded him.

He was preceded in death by his brothers John, Art, Bill, and Dick and survived by his sisters Adean Makenzie, Cindy Mavey, and Christy Smith as well as numerous friends and relatives.

He was an amazing man, a wonderful father and loving husband not to mention an outstanding cowboy.

He will be laid to rest in the Marsing Cemetery at 11:00 on March 25, 2019 reception to follow at Basque Center.
