Obituary of Ona Jean Rausch
Passed in peace at the age of 79 on February 7th, 2019. Jean was born in Nampa attended Edison Grade and School Marsing High School. Later she attended college in Pocatello and Albion, ID. She was an honest wonderful woman who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Preceded in death by her husband Paul Rausch, father and mother Jess O. and Helen Hiatt, and brother Jesse H. Hiatt. She is survived by her sisters ZoeElla Jerome and Kellie Mitchell and sister-in-law Yvonne Hiatt. She is further survived by two nieces: Shelli Baker and Cindy Wood, and four nephews: Phillip Hiatt, Brian Jerome, Rob Jerome, and Jeff Jerome.
Dear friend and companion of friends and family members, many who have preceded her in death, Jean is fondly remembered as a loving sister and aunt, good friend, world traveler, veracious reader, business woman, generous philanthropist, conscientious environmentalist, champion of education and social issues, and proud patriot. The scholarship fund she established at the College of Idaho for Marsing receiptients illustrated her dedication to education and the growth of youth.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 10 am, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Idaho on 2/12/2019.
Donations to the Wounded Warrior fund or American Lung Association in her honor are requested in lieu of flowers.
