Obituary of Edward Albert Powell

  Edward Albert Powell, age 74, passed away on October 17, 2018, in his home in Caldwell, ID, after battling cancer.  He was the husband of Lena Powell. They shared 29 years of marriage together.

  Born in Baker, OR, he was the son of Arthur and Nina Powell. He attended school at Powder Valley in North Powder, OR, where he graduated in 1962. Shortly after, he served 5 years in the National Guard. He worked for Chevron for 33 years, most of that time as a Tanker Truck Driver. During his years driving for Chevron, he received several “Safe Driver” Awards.  He ended his career with the company as a Terminal Operator in Pasco, WA.

  He was a long-time member of the Eagles and the Elks. He had a natural talent for drawing and playing musical instruments and enjoyed going to car shows and looking at old cars and trucks in general. He loved spending time with family and never passed up the opportunity for a get-together. He will be remembered for his kind heart and infectious smile.

  Edward is survived by his wife, Lena Powell, his daughter, Nikki Czapiewski, step-son, Mitchell (Elizabeth) Welsh of Gaffney SC, sister, Shirley (Mitch) Sanchotena, grandchildren, Nolan (Heidi) Czapiewski, Conner Czapiewski, and Natalie Czapiewski, step-grandchildren, Patrick Welsh, and Aileen Welsh, half-siblings, Jeannine Culver, and Clarene Rohner, great-grandson, Salem Czapiewski, and his beloved dog Molly. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Nina Powell, and half-sibling Bryce Powell.

  The graveside service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, ID. A reception will follow-location to be announced.
