Obituary of Kenneth Arthur Stockman

Born June 20, 1946 to Albert Arthur Stockman and Marguerite Lorraine Stockman in Caldwell Idaho. Ken went to be with his Savior Jesus on September 6, 2018. Ken was a very dearly loved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother, nephew and friend to so many.

He grew up in Caldwell Idaho and had a sister Judy who was his best friend growing up, he loved and cherished Judy up until his passing. Ken, Judy and his parents up and moved to San Francisco California in 1947 where he went to elementary through high school. In his early years you would find Ken riding bikes, playing ball and at times jumping over the fence of the golf course retrieving balls for resale. Ken would take summer trips back to his birth place of Caldwell Idaho to spend summers with his cousin Ted and many other family members. Ken could be found singing in choirs and playing the clarinet in the band. He also had a love for baseball growing up and was very talented at this sport. He attended 3 different high schools and received his high school diploma from Capuchino High School in San Bruno California in 1965.

He met Carla June Delanty in June of 1965 and married her soon after. He enlisted in the US Navy shortly after the marriage and spent the next year and a half enlisted. They had their first son Kenneth Arthur Stockman Jr in June of 1967 and then another son Rick Allen Stockman was born in September of 1970. Soon after Rick was born they moved to Santa Clara California and made their home. Ken was employed at TWA airport as a ramp-serviceman for 12 years from 1968-1980. Soon after the death of his father in the summer of 1980 the family packed up and moved to Caldwell Idaho to be around family. In 1983 Ken & Carla divorced and Carla moved to Tennessee and Ken was a single dad of his 2 boys until he met the love of his life Linda Kay Wood in the summer of 1985. The 2 married in December of 1985 and combined their families together. Linda had a son Bradley Alan Vance and a daughter Lori Lee Douglas. Ken and Linda continued their lives together raising 3 VERY hungry and wild and crazy teenage boys. 

Ken became a Christ follower in September of 1993 and began attending First Assembly of God “The Domes” in Caldwell in 1996. Ken served on the board at his church and loved to sing on the worship team. You could always find Ken serving in the kitchen at church and always to be the last one there cleaning up and making sure things were as clean as could be. He is most known for his courageous smile, vivacious personality and the constant hugs and kisses on the forehead to whoever would let him. Ken had a positive attitude towards people and always gave people the benefit of the doubt and loved people unconditionally. Ken spent his last 30 years of life employed for 26 years at Micron Technology as a technician and then a technician trainer. He loved passing on what he learned to other people and loved watching people succeed in the trade he loved so much. He spent the last 4 years at the Brown Bus Co driving little children from bus stops to schools and then back home. He loved this job and loved chartering school sports events  in the evenings even after is long bus routes during the day, he loved staying busy even after retiring from Micron. Ken took pride in his cars and trucks over the years and had a passion for washing and waxing them to a perfect finish and then sending pictures to his kids of the finished product. Most of all was Ken’s love for his family. Ken was known for bringing 16 roses to each granddaughter on their 16^th birthday. His love for the family was so deep and he was surely the glue that held the family together with this way about him. Ken loved the San Francisco Giants and would take trips to SF with his son Rick, grandson Ian and son in law Duane. He loved road trips and there wasn’t anywhere that he wouldn’t be willing to go to just spend time with someone on the road. Ken had a love for music and could remember songs from childhood and you would find him drumming to the beat on his legs of many of his favorites. He could recall music titles, lyrics and the year that they created and this was a passion of his.

Ken is survived by his beautiful bride Linda Stockman, son Ken Stockman Jr (wife Marie), son Rick Stockman (wife Stephanie), daughter Lori Darbin (husband Duane), son Brad Vance (wife Trecia), and sister Judy Haagensen (husband Don). Multiple grandchildren: Dusty, Amanda, Taylor, Chelsea (husband Lee) Alexis, Rikki, Sam, Devon, Ian (wife Sabrina) Samantha and Mason. He also had 3 adopted granddaughters, Sierra, Katelyn and Lindsey. Great grandchildren Brielle, Creighton, Hunter, Cooper, Jude, Grayson, Triston and Lamija. Niece Crista Haagensen, Nephew Brandt Haagensen (wife Young, daughters: Sora & Annika) Many other nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be on Friday September 14, 2018 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel 624 Cleveland Blvd Caldwell between the hours of 6pm-8pm.

Memorial Service will be at First Assembly of God “The Domes” September 15, 2018 at 9am 821 N. 16^th Ave Caldwell. There will be a funeral procession to the Canyon Hill Cemetery following.
