Obituary of John Marvin Henman

       John Marvin Henman was born on May 4th, 1932 to Elzie and Anna Vera Henman in Ansley, Nebraska. He passed June 19, 2018 at home in Wilder, Idaho. He moved with his parents & 5 siblings to Idaho in 1940. He was raised in Dubois, Idaho. John was the 3rd of 12 children. He had 4 brothers, and 7 sisters. John graduated from Clark County High School in May of 1951. He entered the Navy Mobil Construction Battalion where he spent 3 yrs. in the Philippines building Cubic Point Air Field. He was honorably discharged in July of 1955.

            John married Beverly May Gardiner July, 1956 and soon after they were both baptized into the Followers of Christ Church. They had 4 children, Kathy, Ronna, Kirk and Kevin. Beverly passed away after a long illness in June of 1977. John married Bonnie Lee (Young) Smith Feb. 24, 1978. Bonnie has 5 children, Sheila, Dea, Tracy, Julie and Sharri. John lived in Garden City for 31 years, Middleton 6 years, Caldwell 10 years, and in Wilder 12 years.

            John loved to tease, and his eyes sparkled when he made your face turn red. Even in his later years, when he lost his eyesight, he never lost his sense of humor. His heart was as big as the great outdoors, and his love of camping, hunting and fishing made many memorable moments. He was a kind and gentle soul who never knew a stranger, and he would help anyone in need. John will be greatly missed.

He was a wonderful example of Charity:

 

            "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; Charity envieth not; Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in

iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

            He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, 2 brothers,

Robert and Donald. 5 sisters, Ruth, JoAnn, Delores, Joyce and Marylou.

A son-in-law Corwin, a step-granddaughter, a grandson-in-law,

2 granddaughter-in-laws.

             He is survived by his wife of 40 years Bonnie and her children, his children; Kathy Bowers, Ronna & (Howard) Sevy, Kirk & (Tami) Henman, Kevin & (Lola) Henman. 2 brothers; Richard “Butch” & (LaDonna) of Rigby, Idaho, Lester & (LaPreal) of Dubois, Idaho, 2 sisters; Alice Olsen of Price, Utah and Linda & (John) Toler of Dubois, Idaho. 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
